This Privacy Policy explains how Compete Forge (“we,” “us,” “our”) collects, uses, and shares information when you use our websites, applications, and services (“Services”).

1) Information We Collect

  • Account Information: name, email, password, and profile details.
  • Usage Data: device/browser data, IP address, pages viewed, session actions, quiz activity and scores, and logs.
  • Payment Data: processed by our payment providers; we do not store full payment card numbers.
  • Communications: support requests and messages.
  • Child Users: for users under 13, accounts must be created and managed by a parent/guardian or by a school acting as the parent’s agent where permitted by law.

2) How We Use Information

  • Provide, secure, and maintain the Services.
  • Personalize practice sets, explanations, and follow-ups.
  • Process subscriptions and billing.
  • Monitor performance, debug, and improve features.
  • Communicate with you about updates and support.
  • Comply with legal obligations.

3) Sharing of Information

  • Service Providers (e.g., hosting, analytics, payments) who process data on our behalf under contractual safeguards.
  • Legal and Safety when required by law, subpoena, or to protect rights, safety, and integrity.
  • Business Transfers in connection with a merger, sale, or acquisition, subject to this Policy.

We do not sell your personal information.

4) Cookies & Tracking

5) AI Features

When you use AI explanations and follow-ups, relevant prompts and responses may be processed to generate and improve outputs. We take steps to minimize personal data in prompts and logs.

6) Children’s Privacy (COPPA)

Children under 13 may use the Services only with verifiable consent provided by a parent/guardian or, where permitted by law, by a school or district acting as the parent’s agent for educational use. Parents/guardians or schools can review, delete, or control a child’s information by contacting us at privacy@competeforge.com. If we learn we collected information from a child without appropriate consent, we will delete it.

7) Data Security

We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.

8) Data Retention

We retain information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Services, comply with legal obligations, or resolve disputes. We may de-identify or aggregate data for analytics.

9) International Users

Your data may be processed in the United States and other countries that may have data protection laws different from your jurisdiction. We apply appropriate safeguards for cross-border transfers.

10) Your Rights

Depending on your location (e.g., CCPA/CPRA in California; GDPR in the EEA/UK), you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your personal information, and to opt out of certain processing. 11) Educational Content Sources

Some educational and quiz content within the Services may be inspired by, derived from, or based on publicly available educational resources from organizations such as the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), National Science Bowl, International Academic Competitions (IAC), Math Is Cool, NAQT, or other academic competition providers. This content is processed, reformatted, or enhanced solely for learning and practice purposes. Compete Forge is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by these organizations, and all trademarks or copyrighted materials remain the property of their respective owners. No personal data is collected from those third-party sources.

12) Third-Party Links & Services

The Services may link to third-party sites or integrate with providers (e.g., payments, analytics). Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies, which we encourage you to review.

13) Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you (e.g., by updating the “Effective” date or providing additional notice). Your continued use of the Services after changes signifies acceptance.
